We Invite You To Enhance Your Life by Joining A Two Day Program with Dr. Paula Horan: Heartbreath: Evoking The Inner Smile & Maintaining Equanimity In Times Of Chaos :
Equanimity is an essential trait to have, to weather a world filled with chaos and uncertainty. The Buddha used two Pali words, Upekha and Tatramaijhattata, which were translated into English as equanimity, to describe the ideal state with which to handle all of the various circumstances of samsara.
The word upekha means "to look over". It refers to the balanced state we feel when we are no longer caught up by what we see, which leaves us with a deep sense of peace. Enabled to see the bigger picture, we don't take things so personally and thus suffer over them.
Tatramaijhattata a compound word for Equanimity, means" to Stand In the Middle of All This". It speaks of the Ability to Stay Calm and Centered in the middle of Whatever Circumstances You Find Yourself In. Such Calm is derived from Inner Strength and Stability Fostered by a Daily Practice of the exercises offered in the Heartbreath program.
All Practices are derived from Dr. Horan's book, Fierce Innocence. Join us on Saturday & Sunday afternoon 1PM – 6PM, July 18 & 19th(plus 40 minutes of homework with a partner Saturday evening), to Empower Yourself to Take the Necessary Steps That Are Needed in the most Dire of Circumstances, to Ultimately Rise Above the Vicissitudes of Life.
