Q: Guruji, I want to be free. How can I be?

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar:
(laughs), Freedom? How will I become free? You have to assume that you are free. Bondage is assumed, so freedom should also be assumed. Bondage is in the mind.

Freedom......can there be a definite defination of this word which can be applied to all ?? I doubt that very much. Freedom is like a fluid ,which takes the shape of the vessel in which it is. Freedom can mean different things to different people. For that street urchin on the road, selling magazines, freedom would be the last of his copy being sold, for a teenage girl living in a chawl, sharing bath room with 20 other inmates, freedom would be taking a leisure bath in her private bath room, for an addict, freedom would be to live guilt free, for a housewife living in a stifle marriage, freedom would be the courage to walk out........there are so many freedoms....finally to me ,in my current state of being,( as our definations keep changing with our state of being) freedom would mean TO JUST BE.... to be without doubts, without fears, without insecurities, without looking within or outside...TO JUST BE
